Rocky Pool

Bibbulmun Track, Piesse Brook

See route

One of the more challenging swimming holes to access, perhaps one for those with adventurous ambitions.

After a beautiful walk you will feel well-rewarded when you reach the small pool.

Starting at the end of Spring Road, this 5km loop walk trail takes you past the Rocky Pool swimming hole, down a couple of steep descents, before heading back to the car park.

The walk itself has several challenging sections that may not be suitable for little ones, prams, adults carrying kids and wheelchair users.

For those wanting to skip the walk, park at the Rocky Pool parking area right at the end of Schipp Road. From there, it’s a short walk straight to the pool.

Insider Info

Proper footwear is highly encouraged (i.e. hiking boots or covered shoes with good grip). The walk has several steep sections and the ground is mostly sand and loose gravel.

It might be best to give this spot a miss on extremely hot summer days as the walk can get even more challenging with the extra heat. The heat may have also caused the pool to dry up.

The best time to visit the pool is after rain has hit the city. The higher water levels and a faster flowing waterfall will add vibrancy to the location.

Access

The car park is easily accessible by 2WD, after which it’s a short walk (or a longer one if you're doing the loop trail) to the pool.

The pool is situated at the base of several large granite boulders. Do take care when climbing down as the rocks can get quite slippery.

There are no ramps or paths to the water’s edge and is not suitable for those with wheelchairs or prams.
