Margaret River Barrett Street Weir
Barrett St, Margaret River
Tucked down a side street just a 15 minute walk from town, the Margaret River Barrett Street Weir is a gorgeous freshwater swimming hole.
The water gets deep quickly so bring some floatation devices to splash around on.
There is a small grassed area by the water where you can set up a picnic, listen to the birdlife and look for freshwater crayfish (Marron).
This part of the river is also great for launching a canoe/kayak/paddle board and making your way up-stream, taking in the beautiful bushland that flanks the river.
Before swimming, always check for signage regarding the current water quality and read the Shire of Augusta Margaret River's tips for healthy swimming in the region's natural waterways.
