Honeymoon Pool Campsite

River Rd, Worsley

100 km from Perth

Ideal for a forest foray!

Honeymoon Pool is perfect for immersing yourself in lush jarrah forest and enjoying the Collie River.

The campsite is well equipped and the sites are large with a real forest feel.

You can hear the Collie River running gently over rocks from every site and it is a great spot to let the kids muck around on foot or on their mountain bikes.

The forest canopy provides shade, dappled to dense, all over the campsite and in summer the temperatures down here average about five degrees cooler than in Perth.

Another great element is the topography. Wellington National Park is home to rolling hills, valleys and beautiful vistas that are a welcome change from WA’s general flatness.

It is worth noting, as well, that there are many new trails planned for the area, so this area is set to become a mecca for outdoor recreation in WA.

Insider Info

Don’t forget bathers; there are some great pools along the river for a dip.

Wellington Dam is a great place to paddle, as are some sections of the Collie River (at the right time of year) – so if you can borrow a kayak and bring it on your roof, you definitely won’t regret it.

There are so many great tracks for walking and mountain biking, so definitely bring your walking shoes and bikes if you have them.

There is water at the campsite but it has to be boiled before use, so maybe think about bringing drinking water with you.

In the Area...

One of the real highlights of the area is the network of paths and trails.

Visit the Collie Wambenger Trails app to learn more about the trails and attractions in the region.

Safety

The birdlife at the campsite is pretty “friendly” so make sure you keep food and rubbish secure.

Also, when it comes to kayaking on the Collie River be sure to have a good look before you put in. If water flows are high the river could be dangerous for inexperienced paddlers.

Access

Access to the campsite is very easy with sealed roads all the way.

You do have to book campsites online though, and reception is patchy. So best to book from home, or at the Park Info stop at the corner of River Road.
